For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a writer. But even before that, I was always a dog lover. My family always had a furbaby in our home, and as soon as I was able, I got one to call my own. As soon as I had my own apartment, I got a fluffy big-headed and floppy-eared yellow labrador to share it with. Sweet Jete changed my life in the best ways – and then cancer stole him from me.
One of life’s biggest mysteries for me will always be why dogs don’t live longer. They’re
the greatest kind of companion. They make you smile even in the worst moods. They
show you love when you feel most alone. They stand beside you when you least deserve
it. They make you more playful and more thankful and more joyful.

They’re the kind of friend we should all aspire to be.

Years ago, I had an idea. I wanted to take my love of writing and my obsession with my
dog and start a greeting card line that helped make people laugh or smile or feel good.

One that helped friends be better friends.

One that was tied to the lessons dogs teach us.
​
One that served a greater purpose.
​
Back when Jete was still here, he (along with my grandparents) inspired the name
“Laney’s Lab.” I wanted to find a way to pay tribute to my furry bestie in the best way
possible. That’s why you’ll see a yellow lab as the model for most of my line. And that’s why
a portion of each sale will be donated to the Labrador Life Line non-profit that helped save

So, world, meet Laney and my lab. Or, I should say my old lab that’s still very much alive in my heart. And meet my dream company. My main focus is on the greeting card portion, but with gifts in mind. My goal is to offer the perfect card that goes along with a perfect gift you’re excited to give! Thoughtful and affordable and adorable items from shirts to stationary to jewelry to décor…and a little in between.

I’ve worked with artists from all over the world. I’ve searched for the things I would love as a customer. I’ve written the words I want to say to my loved ones. And I’ve partnered with lots of other amazing woman entrepreneurs to make it possible to introduce this new line of products that I loveeee – and that I hope you will too.
